A Love Letter
Practice 1.0 from Flea Project
Scale of flea’s physical ability
It was also the first time the word “scale” appeared in my work. It was here that I began to choose the flea as the object of my long-term practice.
Aiming to show this so-called "pest", which is hated by human beings, from an unnoticed point of view.
Therefore, I will explore three perspectives: "Fleas can see different perspectives"— reflecting their powerful jumping ability; "Fleas have a strong adventurous spirit"— highlighting their directionless jumps; and "Fleas' infinite ability to create and merge"— emphasizing their blood-sucking instincts. Using the flea as a great adventurer, I created love letters, overflowing mailbox, and objects like advanturemaps from the perspective of admirers. This practice seeks to unveil the flea's powerful body structure and energy, often overlooked due to its notoriety. Audiences will experience the balance between love and hate in the flea-human relationship.
